You order at the front, they hand you a number, then bring your food to you. You get your own drinks, which is sort of nice. I would say 3 stars because it was fairly overpriced for the underwhelming quality of the food. I had the Brisket Tacos (YUM), my only complaint here is there wasn’t much in the tacos, the ratios were off due to this (too much tortilla and not enough filling). Especially because they were $17… My mom had the rattlesnake salad ($13). It was unfortunately extremely bitter, needed something sweet in there to offset the bitterness of the arugula and sour-esque dressing. We then went up and ordered something else because the tacos, while not bad in taste, weren’t all that filling and you’ve already heard about our experience with the salad. We chose to order the $8 Mac and cheese. It was milk with a tint of yellow, some breadcrumbs thrown on top, and very under seasoned. The bowl was luckily a good size and we walked away sort of satisfied in appetite but by far in taste and quality. All of this to say, the staff was amazing! So kind and polite. The place is very clean, good bathrooms, nice atmosphere. You could go on a date or bring your family here and play games and shop a little. The food was just overall disappointing, and overpriced or just not matching the price point for what it was.

While staying at the Lodge at Gulf State Park, we took full advantage of the beautiful bike trails — 28 miles of them! — to start every day. One morning we decided to end our ride with breakfast at the Woodside Grill. It’s quite unique — feels rustic, but very clean. They have a cool (temperature) inside where you place your order and get your drinks. You can sit inside too, but we were sweaty from our bike ride (this was a hot July day) and opted to sit on their covered and shaded screened porch with fans moving the air. It felt great at 9:30 a.m. They also have a nice large outdoor seating area with those patio lights that I am sure is perfect for evenings. I saw some corn hole boards, badminton nets and other games too. The food was very good — we have promised to come back for dinner and drinks one night — they have live music many nights as well. If you find yourself in Gulf Shores, you need to check this place out! You can drive or be adventurous and take your bike.

If you want food prepared to highlight the fresh ingredients, not to cover up processed ones, you found the right place! Lovely established dining that honors you in a relaxing atmosphere. There is even live music for those wishing to dine al-fresco. Andrew, who was our kind host, let us know that this sanctuary for traveling foodies strives to comfort and restore your balance through farm fresh food, prepared to enhance the nutritional value needed by those of us having endured a stress ful day on or off the road. My beloved, had the shrimp, and I the portabello burger with homemade chips along with some excellent chardonnay. Just perfection, after the long drive from Northern Alabama!

Great little place to eat. Layout is a little confusing. Go to counter to order and seat. Large groups were in there so seating was tight. She got the Eagle loop English muffin, I got mouse tail sandwich. We also got a order of French toast which is awesome. Food was great, would definitely return.

I had double cheeseburger with chips. It was a little pricey but plenty to eat. Also, it is close enough to walk from the cabins. Very nice staff. The music playlist seemed early 80s with songs from groups like Toto, Journey, and Air Supply. Funny!

This is a rustic restaurant set in Gulf State Park. The menu is limited but the food I had was very tasty. Overall a very nice experience!

This is a jewel inside Gulf State Park right off a walking/bike trail. Indoor and outdoor seating. Order & pay at the counter. Delicious menu! pulled Brisket sandwich, and the portobello mushroom steak sandwich are both delicious!! Quiet during the day. Music at night.

Had the Classic Club, Mac and Cheese, and Salad. The Club sandwich was great. Crispy bread with just the right amount of butter, tasty bacon, veggies, turkey/ham. I was disappointed to find one slice of cheap pre-cut cheese, a nice extra sharp cheddar or gouda would've fit the sandwich better. Home made potato chips were good. The salad was okay, very simple. Mac and Cheese was tasty, with lots of warm melted cheese (dip your chips/sandwich in the extra). Lemonade was mediocre. Very friendly staff (you wait your own table) and a great location.
